Course Description

This activity brings together UC Esports and Cincinnati Fear players for a 12-hour event supporting CancerFree KIDS. During the event, club members can connect with fellow gamers and engage with the gaming community, while helping to knock out childhood cancer.

Note: This is an overnight event but one 4-hour shift is the only requirement to complete this activity. The date will be set by the end of October, 2025 and the volunteer form will be sent directly by CancerFree KIDS organization in December, 2025.

To earn the UC Esports program record of completion, learners must complete 5 of the 9 following activities and invest 9 hours of participation.

Learner Outcomes

Learners who successfully complete the Esports program can expect the following outcomes:

  • Identify avenues for turning a passion for play into a profession.
  • Understand Esports as a globally recognized competitive sport.
  • Apply best practices for building or enhancing a school Esports program, including participation in the UC Esports Innovation Lab.
  • Demonstrate strategies to elevate individual or team performance in competition.
  • Explore the scope of the Esports industry and available resources for engagement.
  • Engage with community members who compete, sponsor, build programs, or launch labs.
  • Utilize resources from Esports Ohio to strengthen school Esports initiatives.

Who Should Register?

These activities are open to adult learners who have graduated from high school, including Esports coaches and school administrators, who want to refine their Esports skills, engage more deeply in UC Esports communities, and elevate their game by connecting with competitive team members.

Note: The UC Esports Program is designed for learners who have completed high school and are looking to continue developing their skills in competitive gaming.
