Course Description
This course covers timing strategies and problem-solving techniques for the Quantitative and Verbal sections of the GRE and GMAT exams. You'll also learn the underlying objectives of the Analytical Writing tasks and the specific steps needed to craft an essay to earn a passing score.
Additionally, you'll explore strategies to overcome test anxiety, improve standardized test performance, and manage math anxiety. You'll learn how to optimize your time during the test, avoid common timing pitfalls, and gain significant extra points through effective timing strategies.
Start When You're Ready!
The program offers up to thirty hours of personalized coaching over a twelve-month period, beginning from the start of the course. You can use up to one hour of this time for admissions-related questions beyond the test.
Mr. Cutts works directly with you via phone and video conferencing, providing specific assignments, reviewing your progress, and teaching advanced strategies. He develops your customized study plan and advises you on all aspects of the admissions process. Most students meet with him once or twice a week, with sessions tailored in length to meet your needs.
For the quantitative section, you'll learn how to interpret the instructions for quantitative comparison questions, analyze data interpretation graphs, and recognize patterns in GRE/GMAT math questions. You'll also discover intuitive math problem-solving tools that are accessible even to those who aren't confident in math. Additionally, you'll gain strategies for managing your time on the quantitative section, including how to decide which questions to tackle and how much time to allocate to each one.
For the verbal section, you'll learn how to skim reading comprehension passages for structure and use techniques to differentiate between closely related answer choices. You'll also understand the core strategy behind sentence completion questions and gain tools to confidently identify the correct answer. Additionally, you'll develop strategies for managing your time effectively on the verbal section, including how to prioritize questions and decide how much time to spend on each one.
