Course Description

This highly practical program equips recent law school graduates with essential business knowledge to enhance their legal expertise in corporate and transactional settings. Participants will develop financial literacy skills, analyze financial risks, and apply valuation methods to inform legal decision-making. Through hands-on case studies and interactive exercises, participants will gain practical insights into corporate transactions, contract negotiation, and supply chain complexities. The program emphasizes real-world applications, ensuring participants can confidently assess financial health, mitigate risks and support clients in business-critical legal matters.

Course Outline

Learning Modules include:

Financial Literacy: Develop financial literacy skills by analyzing income statements, balance sheets, and key financial rations. Gain hands-on experience interpreting business performance and assessing financial risks through real-world case studies.

Risk, Reward, and Valuations: Explore financial valuation, risk assessment, and capital structure. Learn to analyze cash flow, assess debt risks, and apply valuation methods such as DCF and multiples to support legal decision-making.

Transactions: Gain practical knowledge of business entities, corporate transactions, and key contracts. Participate in negotiation simulation to apply drafting and negotiation skills in a real-world transactional context.

Supply Chain Decision-Making and Contracting: Understand supply chain strategies, IT systems like ERP, and contract design to mitigate risks and align incentives. Participate in a dynamic simulation to explore supply chain disruptions and legal solutions.
